The numbers are in and once again Scott County leads the metropolitan area with the lowest unemployment rate at just 3.3 percent. In the past two years alone, Scott County has seen 450 million dollars of new business development and the addition of 3,500 livable wage jobs. These impressive numbers would not have been possible without the improvement of our transportation infrastructure. Many of these new employers cited the construction of the interchange and removal of the congestion bottleneck at 494 & 169 as the significant reason for their deciding to locate in Scott County. It was Scott County Commissioner Jon Ulrich that led the debate on the Metropolitan Council Transportation Advisory Board that secured vital funding for this project, allowing it to be built. Jon believes that a congestion free highway system is essential to our ongoing success in growing the economy in our State, County and his community of Savage.
But Jon’s efforts have not ended there. Through his work on the Scott County Transportation And Economic Development Committee and First Stop Shop, he has worked to streamline and simplify the development process and develop a customer service culture that warmly greets and works with all those who are interested in locating or expanding their business in Scott County. Jon’s goal is to see that everyone in our community can find a quality job within Scott County. That’s an ambitious goal, but one he believes is well worth pursuing. Please join me in voting for Scott County Commissioner Jon Ulrich so that he can help keep our County moving forward.
