As the former superintendent of Three Rivers Park District, I worked closely with Scott County Commissioner Jon Ulrich for more than seven years as our two agencies developed a joint partnership to develop, operate and maintain regional parks and trails in Scott County. Jon consistently played an instrumental role in assuring that the existing regional parks would continue to thrive, while advocating for new park properties to be brought on-line within the budgets adopted by the county and the park district.
Jon served on the Joint Policy Committee that provided oversight and direction for the regional parks in Scott County, where he worked with Three Rivers’ board members to help frame the priorities for funding, sustaining and improving Cleary Lake, Murphy-Hanrehan and Cedar Lake Farm regional parks.
Jon’s leadership and dedication were never more apparent than when he spearheaded the efforts with multiple government agencies that eventually brought Spring Lake Regional Park to life for the enjoyment of residents of Scott County, Savage and the entire region.
I believe that Jon’s proven experience, dedication and leadership are strong evidence that his highest priority is serving the public, and I encourage you to allow Jon to continue serving Scott County residents by re-electing him as county commissioner.
