I am very impressed with the work and record of accomplishment of Jon Ulrich, our Scott County Commissioner. He is a leader with fresh ideas who is not afraid to try something new.
Jon is one of the founding members of Scott County Association For Leadership And Efficiency, otherwise know as SCALE. This is a gathering of our local officials from all across Scott County that considers how to make government more efficient, and less costly in the work we expect them to accomplish. Over the years, through SCALE, the culture among our elective officials has changed from being competitive to cooperative. The question that Jon and the members of SCALE want to answer is, "How can we better serve the public together?" You won't find the typical partisan bickering among our SCALE leaders. What a breath of fresh air that is.
This attitude of cooperation that Jon has helped foster has saved you and I, as taxpayers, a lot of time and money. When Jon rallied our leaders to come down to the Met Council to testify on behalf of fixing the congested interchange at 494 & 169 each leader responded as one voice. This led to the project getting funded, which was followed by 450 million dollars of new business investment and 3,500 new livable wage jobs being added in our county. SCALE and Jon Ulrich have made attracting business development and the addition of livable wage jobs one of their highest priorities and they want to see that our residents will be able to find a livable wage job within our County.
As a past chair of SCALE (twice) and the chair elect for next year Jon is devoted to these efforts. Jon Ulrich has my enthusiastic support as he seeks re-election as our Scott County Commissioner.
